Choosing the Perfect Ivory Bridal Shoes

Although colored wedding gowns and colored bridal shoes are now an accepted fashion nowadays, many brides still stick to the old and traditional white wedding.

White wedding is perfect for brides who want their wedding to have a soft, feminine look, but still remain musculine friendly. White wedding creates an aura of freshness and is perfect for day wedding.

Some brides choose ivory for their white wedding, especially those who hate the "bleached" look of a perfectly white gown. Ivory wedding gowns and ivory bridal shoes look is the creamy version of white wedding gowns and white bridal shoes.

**Dyeable Ivory Bridal Shoes or Not?

If your wedding gown is ivory, it follows that you should purchase a pair of ivory bridal shoes. Do not consider anymore buying a pair of white, dyeable bridal shoes. Chances are, you might not like the ivory color on your dyed shoes. Dyeable shoes are good for brides (1) who do not have a sample swatch of their bridal gowns, like those who bought their wedding gowns online, or (2) who would wear their mother's or grandmother's wedding gowns and the shade of their gowns have darkened a shade or two.

If you consider buying a dyeable ivory bridal shoes, think again. Unlike white bridal shoes, ivory bridal shoes do not offer good shoe canvas to paint on. Ivory bridal shoes do not offer reliable color results. Since it is pre-colored, the effect of dye on the shoe is usually a shade or two darker.

White bridal shoes are the best pair of dyeable bridal shoes. Remember in your grade school art class, the art teacher said that white is the absence of color? Although at that time you didn't understand the reason why white is not actually a color, especially if you are not into drawing and painting, you will understand it more once you tried dyeing your white or ivory bridal shoes.

If you paint on an ivory dye over a white bridal shoes, your white shoes will become near the shade of real ivory bridal shoes. But if you paint on an ivory dye over an ivory bridal shoes, it will look like a beige bridal shoes rather than staying as an ivory colored bridal shoes.

**How to Choose the Right Color

Just cut a swatch of your wedding gown, then head off to the nearest bridal shoe store for a pair of ivory bridal shoes.

Or, in the alternative, bring your gown to the store if you do not have a swatch. But this task might be a bit difficult for you.

**High heeled or low heeled Ivory Bridal Shoes

If you plan to have a couture design and stitch your wedding gown, you must buy a pair of ivory bridal shoes before you head on to your designer's office for measurement and fitting.

Your designer will measure the lenght of your gown accordingly to the heel height of your ivory bridal shoes. If you go for a flat or low heeled ivory bridal shoes, your designer will shorten the lenght of your gown for maybe one to two inches.

But if you, however, plan to buy your wedding gown at pre-made or ready to wear wedding gown stores, it will be your ivory bridal shoes which must adjust with the gown, and not the other way around.
